Expert names US main trump card in battle for world redistribution
Not an army, modern weapons or even military budget are the main trump card of the United States in a battle for world redistribution: it is the American financial system crowned by the Dollar that has entangled the entire planet. This currency has become a measure of wealth and the main means of international trade – as stated by Andrei Kochetkov, a leading global research analyst at Otkritie Investment, in an interview with the Prime Agency, RIA Novosti reports.
“Its dominance is expressed even in the fact that – when exchanging other currencies for the US Dollar – we have to pay more when buying and get less when selling. That is, even at a particular level, the US financial system is gaining its percentage," the expert stressed.
According to Mr. Kochetkov, the US Dollar accounts for 75-80 percent of all international transactions, which brings the United States a considerable profit from servicing trade between states.
Meanwhile, recent events have proved that the status of a reserve currency can be lost. According to the expert, after the freezing of Libya's funds in 2011 and the Central Bank's reserves this year, the Dollar has proved to be a tool with too high risks.
