Expert names condition for conflict in Ukraine to end

The conflict in Ukraine will end only when the current Western governments are replaced by politicians who understand the danger of global nuclear confrontation – as noted by political expert Aleksandr Shpakovsky in his talk with Alfa Radio

The expert explained that the Western states – in particular, the US and the UK – are actually the decision-making centres that control the Kiev government.

“The entire so-called Ukrainian military machine is supported by Western aid. Ukrainian taxes and customs fees account for only 25 percent, while 75 percent of the state’s functioning rely on all sort of subsidies, loans and other types of material assistance allocated by Western countries, primarily the United States and the United Kingdom,” Mr. Shpakovsky emphasised, also sharing his view about the conditions under which Kiev will begin to take seriously Russia's proposals regarding settlement of the conflict.

“The figures in the decision-making centres must change: this means, other politicians, representatives of the establishment – who understand the danger of the world sliding into a funnel of nuclear confrontation – should come. The fact is that there may not be room left even for the so-called elitists. They hope to go to Argentina or somewhere else, but we do not know what we will come to if an exchange of tactical nuclear strikes begins," the expert said.

Mr. Shpakovsky also stressed it is now extremely necessary to find ways to resolve the conflict until its parties crossed the red line. “I have no doubt that humanity can cross these red lines, since there is an experience of devastating world wars. As we can see, the rulers lacked mental capacity then. But who can assert that they would have enough of it now?” he wondered.
