Expert comments on Ukrainian military losses
In his talk with Alfa Radio, Vadim Gigin, the Chairman of the Republican Znanie Belarusian Society, commented on the latest statements of the Kiev authorities that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are losing up to a thousand people daily in Donbass – including those killed and wounded. As he noted, the figures announced by the Ukrainian Servant of the People party differ significantly from the previously reported data.
According to Mr. Gigin, this can be explained by the beginning of Kiev’s preparation of society for the real truth. “The Kiev politicians’ balancing with figures looks absolutely cynical. Arahamiya is one of Zelenskyy's closest associates, and his influence is much greater than of Arestovych who is more promoted. What is happening? They are preparing society for huge losses. According to some reports, the total number of those killed, wounded and captured is approaching to 100,000. It was prohibited to voice the data about the dead for 90 days, and families now are actively asking for this information. Moreover, the recent criticism of [Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery] Zaluzhny was related to this. This is an attempt to blame someone for the losses, and this completely nullifies the propaganda of Arestovych and Podolyak, and their statements of small losses. Society is being prepared, and victims are being played around. Look: earlier, it was Zelenskyy who personally voiced the figures of the dead and wounded, but now they are announced by someone from a lower level – for reason,” he noted.
Mr. Gigin believes Kiev has no chance to win, and many people admit this fact. “However, men continue to be pointlessly thrown into the furnace of war, while the country continues to be pumped up with weapons,” he noted. “More Stingers [portable anti-aircraft missile systems] have been delivered there than to the Afghan Mujahideen during the Afghan war. For example, more anti-tank systems have been delivered to Kiev or are planned to be sent there than the total number of tanks in the world: dozens of thousands. Where are these? They have been grinded by the war. There are huge losses, but what is the point of that?"
As concluded by the expert, ‘a political game and inheritance of the Bandera traditions are in full swing’. “After all, they did not have compassion on their own people,” Mr. Gigin added.
