Expert comments on Belarusians’ concerns on the eve of upcoming constitutional referendum

The General Director of Minsk-Novosti Agency, Andrei Krivosheev, commented upon the upcoming referendum on draft amendments to the Belarusian Constitution during his talk with Soloviev.Live programme

“Speaking of the expert community and citizens focusing on socio-political processes, they are concerned about the transit of power, redistribution of powers between the President, Parliament, Government, governors and the Belarusian People's Congress. They are concerned about the transitional situation, electoral legislation, and so on. However, if speaking of the majority of Belarusians, they are primarily concerned with social guarantees which should be enshrined in the new Constitution. This is all that is important for a qualitative life today. The second place in their discussions is occupied by economic development and topics largely related to our Union State integration with Russia – including industrial and technological development, ecology, and safety,” Mr. Krivosheev said.
