Expert: Belarus is a country of dialogue

The foreign policy pursued by our state is something more than the economic and geographical weight of the state – as noted by political scientist Piotr Petrovsky in his talk with Alfa Radio

He stressed that Belarus has demonstrated the restraint and wisdom of its international policy.

“We don’t go into hysterics like some do. We do not provoke or oppose one another. We are a country of dialogue. In this regard, we are beneficial as an assembly point of the collective East. I am not afraid of such words. We are an alternative Europe in this regard. We are not a colonising country, like the West, but at the same time we have vast experience in building international relations,” Petrovsky noted.

The political analyst also recalled that the President of Belarus had expressed an excellent initiative to hold a joint summit of the SCO, EAEU, and BRICS. According to Petrovsky, all this could become the basis for building a new architecture of the collective East.

“Our foreign policy is something more than the economic and geographical weight of the state. It is clear that we should not measure weight, as the fugitives do, saying that we do not communicate, e.g., with Belgium and Great Britain. The collective West clearly has racism. But what is their advantage? Why do they position themselves as states of the highest class?” the expert asked.

He added that we are interested in a multipolar world where everyone is equal.

“This is the essence of the collective East, in contrast to the collective West: we are not building any clear racist semi-colonial hierarchy,” Piotr Petrovsky summed up.
