Exercises to respond to epidemic threat to be held in Union State

The Union State will host international training exercises on rapid response to a common epidemiological threat using mobile laboratories – as reported by Belarus’ Healthcare Ministry in its Telegram channel

A venue has been chosen: the Republican Centre for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health. The exercises will be attended by employees of the Russian Research Anti-Plague Institute Microbe of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing. In addition, specialists of the Healthcare Ministry, the Republican Scientific-Practical Centre for Epidemiology and Microbiology, the Republican Centre for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health, epidemiological experts and representatives of the laboratory service from Belarusian regions will take part.

Practical skills will be in focus, and participants will practice solving problems of localisation and liquidation of emergency situations, including those of a sanitary and epidemiological nature. The possibilities of specialised anti-epidemic units and a mobile laboratory for the diagnosis of infectious diseases will be tested as well.
