Poland’s former prime minister Donald Tusk believes bread prices will increase fourfold in the country if a sowing campaign in Ukraine fails and Russia stops supplying grain. Although the ex-official spoke of Poland, similar problems threaten other European countries.

The rise in fuel prices is another danger for the continent. The European Union has refused to buy Russian gas for Roubles, and this led to a jump in prices. In turn, such move influenced the cost of energy and automobile fuel which would affect supplies of various goods, including food.
