EU to allocate €25m for mine clearance programme in Ukraine

The European Union plans to allocate 25m Euros as part of a mine clearance programme in Ukraine – as informed by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, TASS reports

On February 2nd, the Head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, and 14 key European commissioners arrived in Kiev to hold a joint meeting with the Ukrainian government on the eve of the EU–Ukraine summit.

"We are grateful to the EU for the decision to launch a humanitarian demining programme worth 25m Euros,” Mr. Shmyhal posted on his Twitter account.

The Ukrainian Prime Minister assured that, in his talk with Josep Borrell, he had discussed sanctions against Russia, as well as military and other assistance to Kiev.
