Estonia recorded highest annual inflation in Eurozone

The highest level of annual inflation (22 percent) among the Eurozone countries has been registered in Estonia – as reported on the Eurostat website, TASS reports

According to Eurostat’s data, the annual inflation rate in Estonia has reached 22 percent, followed by Lithuania (20.5 percent). Latvia (with 19.2 percent) closed the top three anti-leaders.

Meanwhile, the lowest annual inflation rates were registered in Malta (6.1 percent) and France, where the figure totalled 6.5 percent.

According to Eurostat, the rate of inflation in the Eurozone increased last month and rose by 8.6 percent compared to May, when it stopped at 8.1 percent.

Experts believe that the growth of the situation in the Euro area is observed in connection with the increased level of food prices.
