Erdogan: global security architecture should be based on more fair-minded understanding

Global security architecture should be formed on the basis of more fair-minded and equitable understanding – as stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the sixth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia in Astana, BelTA reports

"A global security architecture should be formed on the basis of a more fair-minded and equitable understanding," the Turkish leader said. He stressed that humanity is facing common challenges, and the pandemic has demonstrated this. "Our problems are common, and it is necessary to find solutions with a common mind," he added.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan drew special attention to the problem of terrorism and stressed the importance of establishing peace and stability in Afghanistan.

The Turkish leader also spoke about the conflict in Ukraine, stating the need to stop the bloodshed as soon as possible. He emphasised Türkiye’s efforts to resolve problematic issues that have arisen against the background of current events, including food issues.

Among the important topics of co-operation, the Turkish President also mentioned the sphere of transport and logistics: development of multimodal transport corridors and assistance in formation of a modern Silk Road.

Moreover, Recep Tayyip Erdogan considers it necessary to combine efforts in overcoming energy, climate and environmental challenges.
