Erdogan: EU membership remains Turkiye’s strategic goal

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the prospective European Union membership remains a strategic goal for his country, TASS reports

According to Erdogan, the EU membership is still a strategic goal for Turkiye. He believes ‘the EU ascension will make an important contribution to both the union and Turkiye’.

The Turkish President added that the main ‘agenda item for today’s talks was the steps that could be taken to re-vitalise relations between Turkiye and the EU’ and expressed hope that that EU would present its new vision to strengthen Turkiye’s ascension prospects.
