Energy Minister noted major achievements and prospects of Belarusian energy sector at Energy Expo

The 29th Belarusian Energy and Environmental Forum Energy Expo kicked off today, October 7th, in Minsk. During the opening ceremony, Energy Minister Denis Moroz highlighted that the forum is traditionally an event that reviews the achievements of the past year and sets goals for the upcoming periods.

“This year’s Energy Expo is held in the final year of the 2021-2025 five-year plan. It is clear that during this forum, we will review the accomplishments of the Belarusian energy sector over recent years. Additionally, we will outline the key points and primary challenges that the energy system will need to address in the upcoming period,” Mr. Moroz emphasised.

He believes that looking back over the past five years, Belarus has reasons to be proud of.

“The country has implemented the largest project: building the Belarusian nuclear power plant. Projects related to the development of peak backup generation have been also completed,” the Energy Minister stated. “Construction of electric boilers to meet the heating needs of the population is in progress, along with initiatives to upgrade the electric grid infrastructure. In the last five years, we have more than doubled the amount of reconstruction work. In 2025, the total length of reconstructed infrastructure will surpass 3,450km — an enormous achievement.”

Mr. Moroz stated that approximately twenty-nine events will take place as part of the Energy Expo. These will cover various aspects of energy development, including topics such as human resource development, scientific support, advanced energy technologies, and more.

As usual, the forum will serve as a platform for business discussions and the signing of new agreements and contracts.

Energy Expo is one of the largest specialised exhibitions held every year to foster innovation within the fuel and energy sector.

The event brings together industry organisations and top manufacturers of equipment and technologies for energy and related industries. As is traditional, participants will demonstrate cutting-edge projects and advanced solutions in areas such as the electric power industry, gas sector, energy and resource-saving technologies, digital advancements, and ecology.
