Eismont welcomed Media Wood-chopping Championship participants: President setting the trend

On behalf of the Belarusian leader, Natalya Eismont, Press Secretary of Belarus' President, welcomed the participants while opening the 4th Media Wood-chopping Championship on the bank of the Vyacha Reservoir, the Minsk District, BelTA reports

“I’m glad that we are meeting here for the fourth year in a row. Thank you for coming and supporting our tradition. ‘Here comes autumn, the President is setting a new trend’, as the championship anthem goes. We are indeed into this trend. I’ve come out onto this stage for a reason — My most important and most pleasant mission is to welcome you all and, traditionally, convey to you a huge, warm working greeting from our President. He is currently 300 kilometres from here, working, in the truest sense of the word. We all understand why: our President is always where he needs to be. But we understand that he is always here with us,” Natalya Eismont noted.

The Press Secretary also highlighted the fact that today, the championship is breaking its record in terms of participants, “The number of applications also broke the record, with some even having to team up in order to participate. That's cool too. And we have already discussed it, we are already thinking about the fifth championship. We already have some ideas and plans. We want to offer something new, captivating, both in terms of scale and events. But that is in the future. Today, the strongest will win. I have no doubt about that. We will have a real, fair competition and we’ll have a great day together.”

Today, the 4th Media Wood-chopping Championship is taking place on the bank of the Vyacha Reservoir. The championship will determine the strongest in such disciplines as regular wood chopping and President-style wood chopping, chopping a log with an axe, relay race, and the One Blow! and Strength Test challenges.
