Eismont: peace initiatives at the heart of Belarus’ fundamentals

Peace initiatives have always been at the heart of Belarus’ fundamentals, and this will ever be the case – as stated by the Press Secretary of the President of Belarus, Natalya Eismont, in her talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA reports

"The most popular word pronounced in the Palace of Independence at present and throughout recent years – primarily, of course, by the Head of State – is ‘peace’,” Ms. Eismont noted. She added that, during a meeting with representatives of Belarus’ religious denominations on February 10th, the President again said that peace is a super-value in our modern days.

Ten years have passed since the historic negotiations on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine: the Normandy Four meeting was held on February 11th-12th, 2015 at Minsk’s Palace of Independence.

Ms. Eismont noted that the Belarusian capital has always been a platform for peace and peaceful initiatives. "This is our foundation, which we stood on ten years ago, and which we have stood on throughout the entire history of the Republic of Belarus actually. This stance of us will never be changed,” she said.
