Education Ministry explains why Belarus attracts international students
There are 35,000 foreign students from 120 countries currently studying in the republic — as noted by Belarus’ First Deputy Education Minister Aleksandr Bakhanovich during the 3rd international scientific and methodical conference: Ensuring Education Quality: Status, Problems and Prospects
Mr. Bakhanovich highlighted that the number of international students opting for education in Belarus is rising annually, “There are 35,000 foreign students from 120 countries currently studying in the republic. In the last year alone, the number of international students increased by 5,000, and over the past ten years, their numbers have tripled.”
When asked about the reasons behind their choice to pursue higher education in Belarus, most foreign students cite the high standard of Belarusian education. Additionally, alongside the quality of education, students also emphasise the country’s stability and safety as important factors.
