E-platform for ice cream

The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) is once again expanding its range: Orshasyrzavod (Orsha Cheese Making Plant) – a leading producer of processed cheeses and ice cream in the country – plans to export its products via the BUCE electronic B2B platform

As informed at the Orsha enterprise, the decision to use the BUCE’s B2B platform to sell ice cream – and the whole range of the company’s products in the future – is grounded by an opportunity to gain access to foreign markets with minimal risks, as well as the provision of comprehensive marketing support on the part of the Exchange.

“Like many other Belarus-based dairy processing enterprises, we are actively promoting our products to foreign markets and Russia is so far our main importer. However, we are interested in expanding the geography of sales and it was a possibility of export diversification that inspired us to turn to the Exchange. Since it’s a kind of experiment for our company, we’ll put up only ice cream for auction at the initial stage – placing an application already for the sale of our premium ice cream. We hope to test this new mechanism on a small batch and use it to find buyers in Russia. In the future, we plan to auction off our most popular product: processed cheeses,” Orshasyrzavod representatives note.
