Polish President urged US to deploy nuclear weapons in Poland

Polish President Andrzej Duda is calling on the United States to deploy nuclear weapons on his country’s territory. He discussed this issue with US President’s special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg, TASS reports with reference to the Financial Times newspaper.

In an interview with the newspaper, Duda said he thought it was obvious that US President Donald Trump could move nuclear weapons from Western Europe or the United States to Poland.

“NATO’s borders moved eastward in 1999, so 26 years later there should also be a move of NATO infrastructure eastward. To me, that’s obvious. I think that not only is it time [to do this], but it would be safer if these weapons were already here,” the Polish leader said.

Duda has already proposed a similar project to the Joe Biden administration in 2022. However, this initiative was not successful at the time.
