Digital Expo 2025 kicked off in Minsk
The grand opening of the Digital Expo 2025 international exhibition has taken place in Minsk today, gathering more than 90 companies and organisations – including the leaders of the IT market of Belarus, Russia and China. The four-day forum – scheduled to close on June 20th – includes more than 20 thematic events: round tables, seminars, and presentations by participating companies. Experts plan to discuss issues of digitalisation of various sectors of the economy, the development of smart cities, personal data protection, information security, and other important topics.
As Sergei Kruglikov, Director of the Joint Institute for Informatics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, noted at the opening ceremony, the exhibition enables its guests to once again get acquainted with the existing achievements in the field of digital technologies and artificial intelligence and choose the best solutions that will be in demand in the future.
In turn, Aleksandr Shvets, Chairman of the Republican Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, called the event a unique opportunity to discuss new trends in the development of the industry, “This is a unique opportunity – by bringing together enterprises of the IT branch and real sector of the economy – to meet and discuss new trends in the digitalisation industry over the year, to look at how this branch is developing among our potential economic partners.”
Yuri Predko, General Director of Horizon Holding Management Company, called this year not a date on the calendar, but the time when digital technologies become a reality. In his opinion, the exhibition has brought together an intellectual technological potential capable of transforming certain industries.
“The year 2025 is not just a date on the calendar: it is a turning point when the technologies that we talked about earlier are becoming our reality today. Artificial intelligence has come out of the laboratory, and it is now our personal assistant, analyst and creator,” Mr. Predko emphasised. He added that the holding (which is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year) is actively integrating into digital technologies, “We will launch a new robotic factory this August, this will be the so-called ‘lights out factory’ and specialise in the production of modern AI-based TV sets. The latter will no longer be passive receivers of the signal: they will act as active intelligent media centres – constantly learning, adapting to users and thinking like a human being. Specialised neuro-processors – able to process content in real time using machine learning – will become their key feature.”
Digital Expo 2025 has gathered many Belarusian participants. Among them are creators of integrated IT solutions, system integrators, digital transformation leaders, developers of software and products for automating business process management, and others. The State Committee for Science and Technology presents a collective stand of innovative scientific and technical developments, while residents of the Minsk and Brest techno-parks demonstrate promising ICT start-ups. The latest developments of the Central Research and Design and Technological Institute of Organisation and Management (CNIITU), Integral, Vityaz, and MAZ (Managing Company of Belavtomaz Holding) are on show at the Industry Ministry’s stand.
