Deputy PM: Belarus-Oman dialogue to become example of mutually beneficial co-operation between friendly countries
The dialogue between Belarus and Oman will become an example of equal, trusting and mutually beneficial co-operation between friendly countries – as stated by Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich during his meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Sultanate of Oman for Defence Affairs, Shihab bin Tariq bin Taimur Al Said
During the negotiations, Mr. Karankevich noted that he was glad to have the opportunity to continue the confidential and open conversation that the leaders of the two countries had set during their talks at the Palace of Independence, “His Majesty the Sultan's first state visit to Belarus became a historic event in bilateral relations, and I am sure that this visit fully opens a new page in our interaction.”
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that Belarus highly appreciates the attention paid in Oman to the development of ties between the two countries, “The dialogue between Belarus and Oman will become an example of equal, trusting and mutually beneficial co-operation between friendly countries. In recent years, relations between Belarus and Oman have formed a solid foundation for further mutually beneficial interaction in many areas.”
Mr. Karankevich recalled that, following the talks between the leaders of the two countries, a co-operation development roadmap for 2026-2027 was signed, which outlines concrete steps for interaction between the sectors, in addition to a package of documents in the fields of agriculture, logistics, healthcare, and justice.

“Our countries have taken a big step towards stimulating tourism, exchanging business delegations and developing contacts: an agreement on the mutual abolition of visas was signed. An agreement on the launch of joint investment projects became another important result of the negotiations. I am confident that the agreements reached will stimulate the business community to work more actively to increase the mutual turnover of goods and services, and to implement joint projects in the fields of industrial co-operation and food security," the Deputy Prime Minister added.
As noted by Mr. Karankevich, Belarus is interested in making full use of Oman's logistical potential, its free economic zones and modern infrastructure to jointly promote products to the markets of the Gulf, the Middle East, and East Africa. “We confirm our openness to co-operation in the humanitarian sphere, in the sphere of cultural and educational exchanges, and in the development of mutual tourism. A great job has been done together to create a solid base of co-operation. I am sure that we will be able to implement the planned projects for the benefit of our peoples. The agreements reached will be implemented by the Belarusian side in an appropriate manner," he stated.

In turn, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Sultanate of Oman for Defence Affairs expressed confidence that contacts at the level of the leaders of the two states would mark a new stage in the development of bilateral co-operation and the two countries would come to the fruitful implementation of joint investment, trade and economic projects in various fields.
