Deputies approved inter-parliamentary co-operation plan
A plan of inter-parliamentary co-operation for 2022 approved at the House of Representatives, and Olga Petrashova, the Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Commission on International Affairs, tells us more
“Inter-parliamentary co-operation is primarily carried out within the framework of international parliamentary organisations. Belarus’ Parliament is a full member in seven such organisations and has observer status in three. In addition, our parliamentarians are developing bilateral co-operation with foreign parliaments and, in 2022, visits to Egypt, Iran, the Republic of Korea and Tajikistan are planned. An official visit of representatives of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Belarus is expected soon. Moreover, this year, Belarus will host the 13th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission on Co-operation of the National Assembly of Belarus and the National Assembly of Armenia,” Ms. Petrashova says.
Co-operation at the level of working groups with foreign parliamentarians will continue in 2022 as well. In February, meetings are planned with representatives of Brazil and Vietnam.
“Building of relations with our major strategic partners – the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China – remains among the important activities of Belarusian parliamentarians,” Ms. Petrashova adds.
