Decisions on how to develop microelectronics up to 2040 taken after meeting with President’s participation at INTEGRAL JSC

At a meeting on the development of domestic microelectronics organised at INTEGRAL JSC today by President Aleksandr Lukashenko, decisions have been made to develop the industry until 2040 – as noted by Belarus’ Industry Minister Aleksandr Yefimov

The Industry Minister voiced key tasks for the microelectronics industry following the meeting, “The key tasks are to accelerate the processes to achieve new design levels in the field of microelectronics. Localisation and import substitution are two crucial issues to ensure full sovereignty of Belarus and Russia in the microelectronics industry.”

Mr. Yefimov reminded that the country has approved the microelectronics industry development programme for the period until 2030, but at the last meeting the topical issues were considered much deeper, “We’ve made certain decisions on the development of this area up to 2040. Given the science-intensive nature of the industry, the key decisions made today will allow us to actively develop not only in the next five years, but also in the next decade. Today, our achievements allow us to significantly increase production volumes. But the task has been set to expand this part as well. Despite the fact that we have 14 sales markets, we will also revise export supplies upwards in terms of production volumes and the number of countries.”

The Industry Minister emphasises that Belarus is among the pool of countries that possess unique technologies in the production of photomasks, photolithography equipment for integrated and crystalline production, “In this part, our developments are at the forefront of the key highly developed countries of the world. The goal is not just to keep up, but to achieve completely new and unique results in electronic engineering by 2030 and further by 2040.”
