The programme will include screening of Belarusian films, a gala concert of leading soloists and artistic troupes from Belarus, the Modern Belarus Through Artists’ Eyes exhibition at the National Museum of Kazakhstan, and also a forum gathering representatives of the tourism sector of Belarus and Kazakhstan.

As informed at the Belarusian Embassy, the festival began its history with the Days of Culture of Kazakhstan in Belarus in 2013, in Minsk. Cultural liaisons between Belarus and Kazakhstan are developing in accordance with an intergovernmental agreement on co-operation in the field of culture, science and education as of January 17th, 1996, and also an interdepartmental agreement on co-operation in the field of culture and arts.

In September, Belarus and Kazakhstan have celebrated the 29th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. According to the diplomatic mission, successful development of mutual co-operation was facilitated by the two countries’ active participation in integration processes in the post-Soviet space. Since gaining independence and the beginning of sovereign development, our states have always been and remain strategic partners. Today Kazakhstan occupies a special place in the foreign policy of Belarus and is perceived as a time-tested, reliable ally, the importance and prospects of relations with which will continue enhancing in all spheres of interstate co-operation.

The origins of our peoples’ friendship are rooted in the common history, many decades of interaction and joint trials in the 20th century as part of a common state. "Joining the international arena as a sovereign and independent state and determining its foreign policy priorities based on the multi-vector principle, Belarus initially identified among them the building of the most friendly, comprehensive and mutually beneficial relations with the Republic of Kazakhstan. Our countries traditionally adhere to common views and similar approaches to the formation of a just world order, building equal and mutually beneficial economic co-operation, developing multi-level integration processes, ensuring global and regional security," the Embassy of Belarus in Kazakhstan reported.

Belarus and Kazakhstan interact constructively on global international platforms – such as the UN, OSCE, SCO, and also within integration organisations: the EAEU, CIS, CSTO, and other international structures.

In 2020, the bilateral trade stood at $828m and the main turnover items comprised tractors, fresh or chilled beef, condensed and dry milk and cream, sugar, combines, cheeses and cottage cheese, furniture, medicines, coal, petroleum products, cotton fibre, rails, raw zinc, ferroalloys and metal products.

As informed by the Belarusian diplomatic mission, from January-July 2021, the mutual trade turnover rose by 31 percent. Seven large joint assembly plants of Belarusian machinery and equipment operate on the territory of Kazakhstan: MTZ JSC, Gomselmash JSC, MAZ JSC, Bobruiskagromash JSC and some others. In addition, well-known Belarusian brands – Conte, Marko, Milavitsa, Mark Formelle, Pinskdrev, Gomeldrev, Keramin, Bellesizdelie (BELWOODDOORS TM), Alutech, Kommunarka, Santa Bremor – as well as meat and dairy products from the leading manufacturers are widely represented there. The distribution network of Belarusian enterprises in Kazakhstan includes about 40 entities created with participation of the Belarusian capital, and also more than 170 dealer organisations.
