The command of the CSTO peacekeepers has joined Kazakhstan’s Defence Ministry to develop a plan for transfer of the facilities protected by peacekeepers to law security forces – as stated by the Commander of the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces, Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov, TASS reports
“The command of the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces and Kazakhstan’s Defence Ministry are now jointly developing a plan for transfer of the facilities protected by peacekeepers to the country’s law enforcement bodies,” Mr. Serdyukov explained. He added that – after completing the set tasks, the CSTO peacekeeping forces, in co-operation with the Kazakh side, would organise the return of peacekeepers and equipment to the points of their permanent deployment by military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
Mr. Serdyukov also informed that, over the past day, the CSTO peacekeeping units took five socially significant objects in Kazakhstan under protection. According to him, rapid deployment of the CSTO peacekeepers and fulfilment of the tasks aimed to protect important facilities enabled Kazakhstan’s law enforcement agencies to stabilise the situation in the country.
