COVID vaccines to be available in Finnish pharmacies in autumn
Finnish authorities have decided to put COVID vaccines on sale in pharmacies this autumn, TASS reports
Sanny Grahn-Laasonen, the Minister of Social Security of Finland, said, “The availability of coronavirus vaccines in pharmacies and occupational health services will improve access to coronavirus vaccines and complement the free vaccination of the elderly and at-risk groups provided by regional social welfare services. This long-awaited change is an additional tool in our efforts to streamline autumn vaccination.”
By the way, in Finland, the law on the state guarantee of insurance for coronavirus vaccination entered into force on January 1st, 2021, and it covers injuries caused by coronavirus vaccination. The law applies exclusively to vaccines purchased through the joint procurement mechanism of the European Union. The purpose of the government's proposed amendment to this document is to allow the sale of coronavirus vaccines in pharmacies from autumn.
