To begin with, programme host Marat Markov said he had heard the information that 97 percent of Ukrainians believe Ukraine will win. He stressed that the same figure had been voiced by the opposition following the 2020 Belarusian Presidential election results.
Mr. Uralov shared his opinion on why a coup failed in Belarus back then, “This was due to the Interior Ministry which contour had been preserved. The special services did not fall under external management – and that was an important factor. The country has no oligarchy class that affects the economic sectors and whole branches of the state. The Belarusian state enjoys an excellent system of upbringing, education and training.”
The expert speculated what would be happening in Belarus, Ukraine and Russia now if the Belarusian state failed to hold its ground in 2020, “Based on my analysis, the crisis envisaged that troops from Poland and Lithuania would be promptly sent to the country’s territory where, during the events of 2020, the [military] exercises were taking place. If there had been a collapse of power, then, most likely, we would have seen an attempt to step in by the Polish-Lithuanian NATO peacekeeping forces. Americans would have promoted parliamentarism even more, so that the crisis would also come within the government – as it was observed in Belarus in the 1990s. Your country would have faced the same as Ukraine,” Mr. Uralov noted.
