Contracts worth $55m already signed by Belarus at BakuExpoCentre

The 27th Inter Food Azerbaijan Fair and the 15th Caspian Agro International Exhibition at Baku’s Exhibition Centre feature Made in Belarus exposition

The exhibition presents Belarus’ industrial potential (mechanical engineering and glass industry) and a wide range of Belarusian meat and dairy products.

The stands with eco-friendly Belarusian products enjoy popularity among visitors, who are also demonstrating interest in proposals of the agricultural science. Belarus’ National Academy of Sciences has, for example, brought it biosimilar of human lactoferrin, conceptual technological modular solutions for creation of new generation dairy farms, new types of dry starter cultures for the food industry and also low-protein foods with a reduced content of phenylalanine.

Mikhail Myatlikov, the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the country is taking part in the fair for the seventh year, “This time, 27 countries and more than 450 companies are present here. Belarus is represented by 39 enterprises. In addition, there are many visitors from the region, so the participants of the Belarusian exposition have an opportunity not only to present their products to Baku residents, but also to demonstrate their advantages to buyers from other countries.”

According to Mr. Myatlikov, business meetings have been held between Belarusian and Azerbaijani companies, and about 12 contracts worth $55m have been signed already. More agreements are likely today and tomorrow since the fair works until May 20th.

Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko has already visited Belarus’ national stand today.
