CIS interaction with European organisations discussed in Minsk

Inter-ministerial consultations on interaction of the CIS member states in the OSCE, co-operation with the European Union, NATO and other multilateral European organisations were held at the CIS headquarters in Minsk – as reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee

The consultations were attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee.

At the meeting, representatives of the foreign ministries exchanged assessments of the state of affairs in the OSCE and confirmed their readiness to mutually support positions on topical issues on the organisation’s agenda, discussed the OSCE’s project and field activities in the CIS states. The diplomats agreed to continue co-ordination on the preparation of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Lodz on December 1st-2nd.

The consultations also tackled the EU policy within the CIS space and the state of relations between the CIS member states and NATO.
