The Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Wang Wenbin, was asked to comment on information about a potential contact between Xi Jinping and Volodymyr Zelenskyy after a possible imminent meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, and he said, “I would like to answer your question from three sides. Firstly, China and Russia maintain close contacts at all levels, and I have nothing to report on this [the meetings of Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin]. Secondly, China's position on the Ukrainian crisis has always been clear, we have always kept in touch with all parties to the conflict. Thirdly, China has always adhered to a foreign policy of maintaining world peace and promoting common development."

Earlier, the media spread information that Xi Jinping will meet with Vladimir Putin next week and then hold online talks with Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
