China urged parties to Ukrainian conflict to de-escalate
China is calling on the parties to the Ukrainian conflict to de-escalate – as stated by the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson, Zhao Lijian, RIA Novosti reports
Mr. Lijian answered a question about China's position on ‘the grain deal’, “China's position on the Ukrainian issue is consistent and clear. In the current situation, we believe that all relevant parties should maintain restraint, avoid further escalation of the situation and work together to de-escalate it.” He added that China had previously proposed an initiative for international co-operation in the field of food security.
"We are ready to strengthen interaction and co-operation with all parties on this issue, contribute to the formation of a greater international consensus and make an active contribution to ensuring global food security," the spokesman explained.
On October 29th, Russia announced the suspension of its participation in exports of products from the ports of Ukraine after Kiev's terrorist attack on the Black Sea Fleet ships and civilian vessels in the waters of Sevastopol.
