China declared readiness to develop co-operation with CSTO

The People's Republic of China considers the Collective Security Treaty Organisation to be a leading military security mechanism in the CIS, and the country is ready to develop co-operation with this organisation – as stated by the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, Li Zhanshu, during an online meeting with the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matviyenko, RIA Novosti reports

"We believe the CSTO is a leading mechanism of military security in the CIS, it plays a significant role in promoting and ensuring regional stability and security. We are ready to continue and further develop co-operation with this organisation," Li Zhanshu said.
