The event was chaired by Aleksandr Chervyakov and Vice Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, Deputy China International Trade Representative Ling Ji. The meeting was also attended by First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov, as well as representatives of the leadership of Belarusian and Chinese state structures and departments.

The agenda of the meeting included issues of high-quality development of the Great Stone Industrial Park, and collaboration in the field of traditional Chinese medicine, development of new areas: digitalisation, e-commerce, and green business.

According to Aleksandr Chervyakov, despite the current situation, the Great Stone Park remains the leading project in the Belarusian-Chinese co-operation.

“Sanctions are not only restrictions, but also a window of opportunities for business. The niches that appeared on the markets of Belarus and Russia with the departure of Western companies create additional competitive advantages for the Great Stone Park residents. The Park’s industrial sites enable to quickly increase the level of localisation in the production of medical and technological equipment, transport and other areas, and to quickly replace the falling imports with these goods. In order to fully utilise the existing potential, it is necessary to continue to actively develop the Park, build infrastructure, and announce the project on a global scale,” Aleksandr Chervyakov stressed.

The two states’ economic departments were instructed to form an expert group to develop a strategy for the Park’s further development in the new conditions.
