Charles III to be officially proclaimed King of UK on September 10th
Charles III will officially be proclaimed the new King of the United Kingdom on September 10th, TASS reports with reference to The Times newspaper
According to the publication, on September 9th, the new king and queen consort Camilla will return from the Scottish castle of Balmoral, where Elizabeth II died the day before. Despite the fact that there has not yet been a formal proclamation and the coronation will take place in a few months, the son of Elizabeth II became king and head of the British throne at the moment when his mother died.
Most likely, this afternoon the king may have his first audience with Prime Minister Liz Truss. Charles III is to meet with the Earl Marshal, Chief Master of Ceremonies and Head of the College of Arms of Great Britain Edward Fitzalan-Howard, 18th Duke of Norfolk. He has held this hereditary position since 2002 and is responsible for organising the upcoming funeral. The date is still unknown, but perhaps it will be determined at this meeting.
At around 6pm local time (8pm Minsk time) on September 9th, Charles’ pre-recorded television speech is to be broadcast: the first in the role of a monarch.
