Chairman of Writers’ Union: Our President book gives new perspective on history of sovereign Belarus
The documentary and biographical essay Our President gives an insight into the hard work it takes to build a country – as noted by Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Belarus, Head of the Belarus Publishing House Aleksandr Karlyukevich during the book presentation, held at the National Library of Belarus on January 20th. The documentary and biographical essay was presented by a team of authors: Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Honoured Scientist of Belarus Aleksandr Radkov, President’s Press Secretary Natalya Eismont, Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Vladimir Pertsov, and Head of the Belarus Publishing House Aleksandr Karlyukevich.
“I’m overwhelmed with emotions. There’s some kind of ascent. The ascent is in the sense that you begin to look at the history of our sovereign Belarus in a new way. I would like young readers, particularly students, to have the same emotions after reading this book. These emotions will help them have a different vision and see what kind of labour it takes to build a country, how much it depends on the individual and what stages a person who is at the head of these works should pass through,” Mr. Karlyukevich emphasised.
The Head of the Belarus Publishing House, Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Belarus expressed confidence that this would allow young people to do many good and worthy deeds in the future in the name of their beloved, as the President sometimes says, piece of our land: our sovereign Belarus.
Aleksandr Karlyukevich expressed his enormous gratitude to all the teams that helped prepare this publication, including the staff of the Belarus Segodnya Publishing House, the Zviazda Publishing House, the Belarusian Telegraph Agency (BelTA), other editorial offices, the President’s home institution of higher education – the Mogilev State University named after A.A. Kuleshov – who helped in the search for certain materials and unique photos. The book came out of the walls of the leading printing enterprise: the Belarusian Press House.
