Chairman of the National Bank’s Board Roman Golovchenko has met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UAE to Belarus, Ibrahim Salim Mohamed Al Musharrakh, in Minsk, sb.by reports citing the National Bank of Belarus
Mr. Golovchenko emphasised that Belarus places significant importance on strengthening its relationship with the United Arab Emirates, a key strategic partner in the region. The two countries enjoy strong friendly ties across political and trade-economic areas.
He also added that in late June 2025, an agreement was signed in Minsk between the governments of Belarus and the UAE on trade in services and investment, as well as an economic partnership agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and its member states and the UAE. Once these agreements come into effect, the UAE will become the first non-CIS country with which Belarus establishes both a free trade zone for goods and a free trade zone for services simultaneously.
During the meeting, the parties explored promising opportunities for advancing bilateral relations, particularly in the banking sector.
Roman Golovchenko highlighted that the National Bank aims to fully engage in all aspects of bilateral co-operation, confident that there are no unresolved issues between the two countries.
