Aleksandr Lukashenko reminded that the transport industry – being the only conductor of foreign trade operations – accounts for almost half of the foreign currency revenue (about 45 percent) generated by exports of services. “The existing situation has broken many long-established logistics chains. Of course, this leads to expenses among manufacturers in all industries. Truly masterly logistics is required these days to export products profitably or to supply components to the domestic market,” he noted.

The Head of State added: it will not become easier in the near future. “Therefore, the Transport Ministry needs [to continue] its daily work: to negotiate wagons, containers, access ‘windows’, and competitive tariffs. Moreover, the tasks of increasing physical volumes and diversifying exports have been set for the industry ministers. Their implementation in some way depends on the Transport Ministry’s promptness,” Aleksandr Lukashenko addressed those present.
