Bundestag deputy declared depletion of West’s sanctions potential
The collective West imposed all possible sanctions against Russia that could somehow affect Moscow, but it appeared that these restrictions caused more damage to the economies of the European Union and the United States than the Russian Federation – as noted by a Bundestag deputy, Eugene Schmidt, in his talk with the Soloviov Live channel
According to the expert, the West has exhausted its sanctions potential. “All the sanctions that could only be imposed on and that could somehow affect the situation have already been introduced. The West has no other restrictions to propose," he explained.
The Bundestag deputy added that Western countries have also exhausted the possibilities of providing military assistance to Ukraine, “The promised arms supplies and financial support. The Western countries have nothing more to offer, so there is a statement of the fact that they have supported and will continue to support [Ukraine]," he stressed.
According to Mr. Schmidt, the West can now only distribute frozen Russian reserves, but the consequences of this move would be disastrous. “If a decision is made to give them to Ukraine in any form, then it would threaten the West with tremendous consequences,” he stated.
