Brazil in favour of co-operation within BRICS in fight against terrorism

The Brazilian authorities advocate for increased co-operation between the BRICS countries in the fight against terrorism and have already sent ‘concrete proposals’ to them, TASS reports with reference to Celso Amorim, the international affairs advisor to the President of Brazil

The diplomat recalled that meetings of national security advisers of the BRICS countries have been held since 2009 thanks to the creation of working groups on combating terrorism and in the field of information technology.

"Brazil has already submitted specific proposals to these two groups to stimulate the capabilities of specialised agencies," Celso Amorim noted during his recent speech in Brasilia.
