Border guards found refugee from Gambia beaten by Lithuanian security forces in Grodno District
On March 21st, Belarusian border guards found a beaten and emaciated refugee in the Grodno District, sb.by reports citing the Telegram channel of Belarus’ State Border Committee

“On March 21st, Grodno border guards found a man, said to be a citizen of Gambia, in the immediate vicinity of the Belarusian-Lithuanian border,” the State Border Committee said. It is reported that he had neither documents nor personal belongings. The refugee asked for water and food and complained of multiple injuries and severe pain in his leg. The man explained that Lithuanian law enforcers had severely beaten him and forced him onto the territory of Belarus.
Grodno border guards gave the victim first aid and called an ambulance. The initial medical examination revealed multiple bodily injuries, as well as a closed head injury. In order to assess the severity of the injuries and to provide the necessary assistance, the man was admitted to one of Grodno’s hospitals.
