Border guards found dead moose on border with Lithuania
Another victim of the Lithuanian barbed wire was a moose; its carcass was found in the Ostrovets District of the Grodno Region, sb.by reports with reference to Belarus’ State Border Committee
On May 10th, Smorgon border guards discovered a moose carcass in the Ostrovets District on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border.
“The border post's video surveillance system recorded an animal heading from Lithuania to Belarus becoming entangled in a dangerous European fence. A border patrol unit arrived at the scene and found a moose that had died from blood loss,” the Belarusian border agency gave the details.
Since September 2021, the Belarusian side has registered a total of 52 cases of animal deaths because of the border barriers in Lithuania, Latvia and Poland.
