Bogdanov: it’s important to find balance between public and private interests

A balance of public and private interests is important – as stated by Aleksei Bogdanov, the Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, on the sidelines of the Development of Entrepreneurship in the Republic of Belarus as One of the Most Important Tasks of the Country’s Socio-Economic Life business forum, dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Republican Confederation of Entrepreneurship

Aleksei Bogdanov noted that the business environment and the development of competition are interrelated and are very important for the economy of any state.

“As far as trade is concerned, it is almost all private. It is very important that we find a balance between the interaction of public and private interests. It is vital that private business understand the needs of the state and the people, and we manage to find contact and mutual understanding. A bright example is our agreement with retail chains on a social discount, which has been operating for almost a year,” the Minister accentuated.

He also outlined another trend in the area: in recent years, there has been a balance between large chains and small and medium-sized businesses.

“We see that there are leaders, and we try to make others catch up with them – this is how the balance of the trading market will be ensured,” the Head of the Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Ministry believes.
