Bloomberg: UK authorities hushing up the prospect of winter power cuts
UK authorities are not telling Britons about the prospect of a blackout this coming winter – as stated by London Energy Consulting chief executive David Cox, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Bloomberg
According to Cox, there is currently a serious shortage of gas in the UK, which could lead to some problems during the heating season.
“We don’t have enough gas to burn to make electricity, and that is a serious problem the government are glossing over at the moment,” he said.
Cox noted that the British should not hope for help from the European Union: many EU countries faced a similar problem.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned Ukrainians that the upcoming winter would be the most difficult in the history of the country. This is due to high prices for blue fuel. According to the Ukrainian leader, the country’s authorities are now doing everything possible to prepare for the heating season.
