Bloomberg names US serious mistake
A refusal of some states to criticise Russia's actions in Ukraine turned into a failure and a serious mistake of the United States and its allies, Bloomberg says
According to the publication, many countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America refused to criticise the hostilities in Ukraine, and this became a serious mistake of the West. It reads that the Global South’s ‘unnerving tolerance’ of Russia's actions is ‘a failure on the part of the United States and its friends’, and it needs urgent attention.
Not long ago, during the UN General Assembly voting on the Russian military special operation in Ukraine, thirty-five countries – including India and China – refrained from condemning it. Bloomberg reporters claim that the combination of Russian arms supplies, Chinese investments and ‘neglect on the part of the United States’ has inspired many countries that an alliance with Americans has no prospects. Moreover, it has become a worldwide trend. As a confirmation of this thesis, the publication cites the ongoing Summit of the Americas: the region’s leaders are balking at ‘US efforts to manage the guest list’.
