Bloomberg: Belarus leapfrogged Germany in terms of exports to Russia for the first time

In April 2022, Belarus for the first time exported more goods to the Russian Federation than Germany. As reported by TASS with reference to Bloomberg, the volume of products supplied surged by more than 100 percent.

As stressed by the agency, Belarus exports a variety of goods to Russia – ranging from construction materials to pet food. Meanwhile, sales from other countries were down about 40 percent. For example, China, Turkey, South Korea and Japan decreased their supplies to the Russian Federation in comparison to 2021.

Bloomberg recalled that, last September, supplies from China stood at about $6.6bn, reaching their peak figures in December. In early 2022, the volume of Chinese exports to Russia began to decline – to make $3.7bn in April.
