Biden's speech in Warsaw declares new cold war, Poland’s former foreign minister says
US President Joe Biden announced a new cold war in his speech in Warsaw – as stated by Poland’s former foreign minister Jacek Czaputowicz, RIA Novosti reports
“President Biden's visit has a historical aspect. His speech in a courtyard of the royal castle was made in a way to open a new chapter in history. His words declared a new cold war,” Mr. Czaputowicz said in his talk with Rzeczpospolita.
According to the former foreign minister of Poland, Joe Biden’s speech in Warsaw ‘could be compared to Winston Churchill's Iron Curtain speech of 1946’. Mr. Czaputowicz believes the US President’s speech ‘presents a meaning that is changing the perception of reality’.
At the same time, according to the former Polish official, the American leader announced a long-term conflict with Russia. “If we call someone a criminal and a butcher, then we will definitely not start talks with this person. This is a signal to Europeans that we should change our strategy. There is no chance of a speedy return to what it was before Russia's aggression against Ukraine. We are focused on a long-term conflict. The result of this war is the adoption of world leadership by the United States and confrontation with Russia,” Mr. Czaputowicz said, adding, “Biden directly said that Putin must be defeated, and this excludes any compromises that European states were reckoning upon.”
