The diplomat drew attention to the fact that Western countries actively use unilateral coercive measures in violation of international law, and this constitutes gross and massive violations of human rights of the population of different countries, including the target and initiator states of sanctions, as well as developing countries. The Permanent Representative of Belarus to the UN Office and other international organisations in Geneva stressed that this should not go unpunished and called on the UN to establish an international accountability mechanism for the use of unilateral coercive measures.

Larysa Belskaya also stated that the discriminatory policy of the West grossly violates human rights in sports and politicises it. The diplomat strongly condemned the suspension of Paralympic athletes and athletes from Belarus and Russia from participating in competitions and demanded energetic and decisive measures from the UN and the IOC to fully restore their rights.
