Belgospishcheprom about its deliveries to Russia, China and ‘far arc’ countries

Belgospishcheprom Concern plans to increase deliveries to Russia, China and ‘far arc’ countries – as stated by its Chairman Oleg Zhidkov, BelTA reports

“Despite the fact that the current situation in the world remains very difficult, in our opinion, now is not the time for businesses to make any radical decisions. Sanctions are not a new measure for us, with our country’s industries adapting to new realities and finding new opportunities,” said Oleg Zhidkov. “Let’s take the events in Ukraine. Yes, today we are forced to reorient our exports to other markets but basically these are not new markets. We will simply increase exports to those countries where consumers know us and enjoys our goods. These are Russia and China, as well as the ‘far arc’ countries. As before, EAEU and CIS member states will remain our main trade partners. These countries cover a huge territory, and there is enough space in the markets for everyone.”

The Chairman added that, last year, exports of the concern’s organisations to Ukraine increased by more than 50 percent and totalled $33.3m (accounting for 8.3 percent of the total exports). “True, the growth was ensured by increasing the raw material exports of malt and salt, which accounted for 57 percent in the share of export deliveries to Ukraine in 2021. Taking into account the current circumstances, it will not be difficult to redistribute the released volumes of malt and salt, which are in high demand,” he noted.
