BelGee plans to develop production of sedans

This was announced by BelGee Director General Gennady Svidersky during a press conference timed to coincide with Machine Builders Day, BelTA reports

Gennady Svidersky noted, “Now we see that in certain areas a part of the market has become free, therefore, alongside crossovers that everyone enjoys, we will actively develop the production of sedans. Moreover, our plans include to continue the manufacture of electric vehicles. At the moment, we consider this task a strategic one, since our country has good starting conditions for the development of electric transport: we have fairly short distances, decent road quality, and the charging station infrastructure is well developed.”

He stressed that the deliveries of machine kits and components from the plant have been agreed before the end of the year.

“I think we will give a sufficient number of vehicles to showrooms and fulfil all the requests of dealerships in Belarus. In 2021, BelGee exports totalled $387m, and this year we plan to reach the same level,” added Mr. Svidersky.

Serial production of Geely cars was launched in 2018. According to the enterprise’s Director General, during this time, more than 100,000 cars were produced, and the line-up of cars was almost completely updated.

“The Geely brand has become familiar to Belarusians. Our vehicles can be seen in every yard, and this pleases,” summed up Gennady Svidersky.
