Belarusian Wrestling Federation named best athletes
It is common practice to sum up the results of the outgoing year on the eve of the New Year, with the Belarusian Wrestling Federation naming the best athletes of 2021 – as was reported in the Telegram channel of the NOC of Belarus
Silver medallist of the Tokyo Games Iryna Kurachkina and the Olympic bronze winner Vanesa Kaladzinskaya were named the best female wrestlers of the year.
Mahamedkhabib Kadzimahamedau, who claimed silver at the Tokyo Olympics, was recognised the best freestyle wrestler.
Kiryl Maskevich, silver medallist of the European and world championships, was named the best wrestler in the Greco-Roman category.
The U20 world champion Alesia Hetmanava was named the Discovery of the Year.
The U20 world champion, bronze medallist of the U20 European Championship and silver medallist of the U23 World Championship, Pavel Glinchuk, became best in the Breakthrough of the Year.
“Belarusian wrestlers keep their traditions and every season they prove their high professionalism at important competitions. From January 12th-16th, the national championship will take place in Soligorsk, opening the new season,” noted the National Olympic Committee said.
