Belarusian trampolinists won two Olympic licences for Paris Games
On March 23rd-24th, the 2024 Trampoline World Cup, which became the final qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games in Paris, ended in Cottbus, Germany. On March 25th, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) published a list of athletes selected for the Olympics, with Belarusians among them.
Belarusian athletes were forced to miss the first three stages of the World Cup due to suspension. After returning to the international arena, they performed in a neutral status at two segments of the tournament – in Baku and Cottbus. Our trampolinists had a chance to get into the number of participants in the Olympic Games in Paris, because the qualification included the two best results shown at all stages.
Ivan Litvinovich took third place at the competitions in both Azerbaijan and Germany. With 100 points, he placed on the second line of the Olympic qualification ranking. Viyaleta Bardzilouskaya brought another licence to the Belarusian team: taking 10th place at the World Cup in Baku and 12th in Cottbus, she scored 40 points and also entered the top-10.
The International Gymnastics Federation noted that trampoline quotas are not nominal.
