Belarusian pharmacists mastered markets of Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar in 2024

Belarus exports domestic pharmaceuticals to more than 30 countries of the world, with promising markets being developed: the countries of the Persian Gulf, South East Asia, Africa, and Latin America. In terms of geographical diversification, in 2024, pharmaceutical organisations made the first shipments to the markets of Saudi Arabia, Somalia, the UAE and Qatar – as noted by Healthcare Ministry spokesperson Yulia Borodun, sb.by reports.

In 2024, the organisations of Belpharmprom Holding were engaged in the implementation of 12 investment projects, including 4 import substituting production projects.

“These are the construction of a new workshop for the production of medicines in Drogichin (2021-2030), a new production facility of solid dosage forms in Borisov (2021-2029), production of medicines in the form of eye drops (2024-2027) and creation of modern automated production of anticancer medicines in the form of freeze-dried powders, concentrates and solutions for injections (2020-2026) in Minsk,” Ms. Borodun explained.

In 2024, Belpharmprom Holding implemented three investment projects, as a result of which Belmedpreparaty completed technical modernisation of a multifunctional building for vaccine production and organised warehouses for storage of raw materials, materials and finished products for over 2,000 pallet places, and a biological laboratory was set up at the Nesvizh Medical Preparations Plant to apply modern methods of quality control of medicines and active pharmaceutical substances.

The press service also specified that the state pharmacies ensure uninterrupted availability of a full range of domestic medicines and imported goods that have no domestic analogues. The range of goods in the pharmacy warehouse of Belpharmacia is about 7,000 items, of which more than 4,000 are medicines, including domestic drugs: about 1,900 items.
